Unmanned Resilience workshop notes
Phase 1 "Be Strong, Be Wrong" foraging expedition. Notes from the Wild
Wisdom from the plant kingdom spread by Dario Cortese.
On plants:
- Weeds contain more minerals than the vegetable crops they grow between
- Young vegetable shoots are a better source of vitamin-C than Citrus fruit
- Worms in fruits always go for the most nutritious parts so they show the way
General health stuff:
- Sleeping head down and walking down hill are good for the lymph system
- Rinse the mouth with sesame-oil for 15 min to clean away bacteria
- Always search online for plant information using the Latin name, this removes at least 60% of bullshit
- Fasting is only advised when you are fit and healthy, otherwise you may be overwhelmed by the poisons that your body releases. Thin people fast less long.
- Theanine does not exist, only caffeine (NOTE: not sure what this means by 'exist' but “Theanine” aka 5-N-ethyl-glutamine or gamma-glutamylethylamide is the major free amino acid in tea, 1–2% dry weight of leaf)

Phase 2 / Notes from the Sky:
Notes from the Unmanned remote sensing operations.
Ideas for possible missions with the Bromor UAV during the Resilients workshop:
- mapping the remains of the WW2 forest army hospitals
- mapping Roman archaeological remains
- wild goats mission
- raspberry mission: mapping the various raspberry fields to examine the relevance of differences in growing conditions
- mapping ticks in meadows with low altitude quadrocopter
- mapping caloric value of the landscape
- mapping underground water-streams and lakes
- dragonline mission, exploring possible stone rubble pyramids
- mountain bear mission
- mapping pyramidal structures and patterns in the forests and search for algorythms in it
No goats, but we ourselves are in P1010694 top left of the image.
Phase 3 / UR apprenticeship:
Notes from the Data display workshop.
UAV terminology:
- Orthophoto: image taken from above, corrected so you can measure distances in it
- Ground Controle Points: points on the ground for which you have exact coordinates to place images
- Spectoral Signature: ways to identify objects and via an algorithm
- Leaf Area Index: the percentage of leaf-forest in a landscape
- Hyper Spectoral Imagery: currently the most advanced technology giving layers of data
- T - Take Off Point: from the launch the UAV goes here and taxis until further orders
- R - Rally Point: from here you engage final approach to landing zone
- P - Parachute: final drop in the landing zone
- Loiter: taxiing circle you can put anywhere and give a specific radius
- Convoy mode: have the UAV follow you if you are on the move
- Target mode: follow a moving target (car etc)

“They are better known as stealthy killing machines to take out suspected terrorists with pinpoint accuracy. But drones are also being put to more benign use in skies across several continents to track endangered wildlife, spot poachers, and chart forest loss.”
